Megan's interest in food began at age 4 when her mother remarried and they were suddenly a family of ten. It was basically a dinner party every night (though her mother may disagree with the word 'party'). Being the youngest by far in a large family had her in the kitchen helping out while the others did their schoolwork and sports. She always loved cooking with my mother and still do when the opportunity strikes.
After earning a BS in Nutrition and Food Science/Chemistry Megan worked for a 'celebrity' chef (before celebrity chefs existed). After moving to Los Angeles she ventured into a new area of food making, packaging, and selling Fleur de Sel caramels.
Megan is currently working as a catering/personal chef work and offers cooking classes for children in her home. Getting children in the kitchen is so important- it gives them a sense of self and capability to nourish their bodies without all the packaged food that surrounds us and I am thrilled to be living in Oregon where we really take our food seriously!
