Cooking Fundamentals for Middle Schoolers (grades 6-8)

Erika will start out teaching the middle schoolers knife skills, food safety, the basics of how to measure wet and dry ingredients and how to follow a recipe so that they are confident in the kitchen. 

We are doing something new with this cooking camp this year! We have set up stations including there own cooktops where teams of 2 and 3 will work on whole recipes together. They will be encouraged to figure out everything on their own and will perhaps learn by making a few mistakes along the way.

Throughout the week your kids will make the following items and there will be bonus items added to the menu each day as time allows:

Scones, Omelettes & poached eggs (no kid will be allowed to leave the building without knowing how to properly crack an egg)

A Healthy Crowd-Pleaser Homecooked Dinner (baked breaded chicken cutlets, Aglio e olio pasta and sauteed vegetables)

Seasonal Salad, Dressings & Scratch Soup

Dessert- Skillet Apple Crisp & Molten Lava Cakes
